The future of marketing for the megabrews

BTW, y'know you're not supposed to quote damn near the *whole* article without permission, right? Like it's all copyright and stuff? But thanks for the heads-up, anyway, since I don't usually bother with DumbedDownNewsToday for my infotainment.

Yeah, right. A restaurant in my home city does regular beer dinners, and I go to as many of them as I can wedge into my schedule, but then I got the flyer for their dinner featuring the products of Miller. Um, no thanks. That was one quick tip into the recycling bin. Best they could manage was Pilsner Urquell served with dessert.

And now, SABMiller looks like it will be buying Slovakia's Topvar brewery. *sigh*

My policy is to post the link so readers know it's legit and then copy/paste the article so that you can read it without being distracted by the ads and stuff on the web page. When the copyright police track me down and tell me to cease and desist I will change my policy.

That'll probably happen about the same time I get arrested for tearing the "Do Not Remove" tag off the mattress.

The difference is that he is knowingly violating copyright law (and for no useful reason, I might add; does anybody really miss "beer bits"?), whereas the end consumer has the right to remove that tag.

I do, actually. I'm interested in the whole brewing industry.

I assume that there is a flow of lurkers in the group so that there are always new people around. They might not miss "beer bits" because they weren't reading when they were posted.

I also take a broader interest in beer marketing. At some level the craft brewers may follow the megabrewers and it helps to be clued in as to what's going on and why.

And of course USENET is the place to look for definitive info.

It's a piece of the puzzle, just like rattbeer.com and BeeRADvocate. It's never a good idea to get all your info from one source.

yes it is!

Oh, right. I forgot about you. I'll send your next package of info tomorrow. Hang on till it gets there, and don't forget to study for the quiz. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
