La Pavoni Burr Grinder mess

Dec 28, 2003 1 Replies

I have a La Pavoni Burr Grinder and it makes a complete mess when I use it. There is coffee grinds going everywhere. This happens both during the grinding process and when I remove the receptacle to try to get the grinds out which tend to be highly charged with static electricity. Moreover, it doesn't appear to do a consistent grind which I thought was the whole point. Instead, there are some good grinds and some extremely fine almost espresso like powder that attaches to the side of the container.

Is this how this thing is supposed to work or am I doing it wrong? Also, if this is what I should expect, is there another inexpensive option that someone can recommend that's better than this contraption? I'm thinking about switching back to a normal blade grinder just b/c there's no mess.

Thanks! J.

After reading , I would guess that it's how it works. Both reviewers comment on the mess.
