when making a 5 gal batch of beer,what is the average amount of grains used . this batch I'm trying to make is a dark porter should I use .5lbs 1 lbs or 1.5 lbs.I have the rest of the ingredients. I can buy this kit, but I would like to come close as I can without buying the kit. all my hunting buddies just loved it.and I would like to have some ready for around the camp fire this fall thank Jim
