Honey Porter in search of hops

The recent thread on a Maple Porter gave me an idea. According to my Mead Calculator, 1.8 kg of a John Bull prehopped extract plus 6 lbs of Orange Blossom will yield a Braggot must with an OG of 1.074. I suspect that is high - will be more like 1.070 - 1.072.

Let's skip the flavoring and the aroma hops since the honey will do that. What about bittering hops? Somewhere I read it does not matter which hops you use foor bittering. Unless I read that from a knowledgeable person, I have difficulty believing it. So I ask which bittering hops should I use? It will have to be a hops tea.

Most of the flavor get boiled away with bittering hops...the John Bull is "prehopped" so keep that in mind...just a little of a high alpha hop.

My reader tried to expand it and I got a bunch of "????" with a few readable words. It is a spam in a non-english character set, probably some type of Arabic, since the posting IP address traces back to Egypt.

Yes, it was Arabic. My Linux newsreader displayed the correct font without any intervention on my part.
