This is of interest for those using honey in your wines.

Patrick J. Fitzgerald, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, announced on Tuesday, May 27th, the arrests of two executives of Arthur J. Wolff, Inc. and charged them will purchasing honey contaminated with CAP (Chloramphenicol) from China. The press release is at:

It appears that when Wolff customers rejected orders because of CAP contamination, Wolff sold the honey to customers who didn't care about the contamination. These customers were identified only as being in Texas and Michigan.

The moral of this story is always ask about the country of origin of the honey and do not buy honey that came from China.
