Little specks on surface

My porter has been in the secondary fermenter for a little over 2 weeks now... and I just went and looked, and there's lots of little specks floating on the surface. here's a pic:

is this normal? other beers i've made haven't ended up like this... (the dust is on the outside of the fermenter, not inside... i sanitized everything as usual)

hoping it's not mold or anything... any ideas?

That does not look good. Did you open the carboy at all and give it a smell? Does it smell like mildew or otherwise funky? If so, you have mold.

If not, look closer - it could just be some sediment in suspension or possibly clusters of little air bubbles.

That does not look good - probably mold. Have you opened the carboy? Does it smell mildewy? If so, it is probably mold...

Looks OK to me...

Im going to assume thats not sarcasm... if its not, can you tell me what you think that is? I ask because I had a porter do the same thing, and at one point almost had a skin on it (ya know, like when you let gravy go awhile without stiring it). Mine smelt fine, I bottled it, drank it, and it tasted fine (little too heavy on the coffee tho), even drank a bottle month or so ago (bottled it back around oct) and it was ok... Im just curious so if I see it again I won't worry...

Indeed....thanks, Bob!
