Root Beer Ingredients?

Nov 23, 2003 2 Replies

Anyone else tried to make their own root beer? Any help finding some of these ingredients would be appreciated. I'll post on my success if any. Seems all I can find is extracts and sarsparilla powder in tablet form. Doh.

Tried it once, and it wasn't bad. Pick up a copy of Homemade Root Beer, Soda & Pop by Stephen Cresswell Plenty of recipes.

I got all the herbs in bulk from Stony Mountain Botanicals

The seemed to have a wide selection and the prices were reasonable. It was a while ago, but the shopping experience with them was good.

Do you have a keg set-up? Force carbonating seems to be the way to go with this, but you can still make root beer without it.

My wife has been after me to make some RB also. She found a Root Beer Concentrate. Made by Mc Cormick (the spice people) at the local supermarket. Thats going to have to do.

Brew on brother!
