sediment good...

i just wrote this and was so proud of myself i had to make a topic about it. Brewers yeast is healthy. You can buy it in pill form at your local health food store.

Do not be scared ..it will not harm you. some beers recommend rolling the bottle before opening to put the sediment back in the beer and give it a cloudy look... on purpose!!. Just say to yourself.. sediment "good" ... filtered "bad" . At the beer factory they quickly filter and carbonate it to get it the hell out the door and collect the money. Much of the flavor is pretty much filtered out. If you buy a bottle of "bottle conditioned beer in the store such as Hennepin in NY state it will cost you mucho bucks per bottle. Light beer is a marketing scam where they use a lot of water very little malt and hops (because its cheaper to use less) ,triple filter it ,put it in thin bottles. and Bang mass production of what they tell you that you like while they drive around in Mercedes limos with not even enough patriotism to by a caddy (american made!!).

And to just add a little: Yesterday lunch time I was copping a bit of flack from some workmates for making my own beer - the washing and sterilising, plus the waiting times. One of the ladies came back with three pints of beer; "You know for another

45 cents I could make 40 pints!" (3 @ $6.50 compared with a $19.95 kit.) The pubs have also got their greedy little hands out.

As for flavour ... a mate's comment still makes me smile. After tasting one of my first draughts; "Mmmm it really gets in your mouth."

Cheers T

Cooper's Sparkling (a South Australian lager) is a classic example of this. Give it a couple of turns to loosen up the sediment. It so makes the beer.
