Chinese gunpowder green tea

Why do they call it Chinese gunpowder green tea? I assume there really isn't gunpowder in the green tea.

Right, it's form, not substance. Have you seen any? The leaves are rolled up into pellets resembling the old-time gunpowder. Glass is especially great teaware because it allows you full visual entertainment watching them all unfurl.

Thanks for the description, think I'll look them up right now.

Because it's about the consistency of a cannon or blasting powder.

Please keep in mind that

1) No sane Chinese will drink this stuff 2) It costs about $1 per kg wholesale from China. 3) You will find substances that you really don't want in your tea in this stuff.
