I did a search for Lu An Melon Seed green tea this morning and this was one of the sites that came up...has anyone here ordered from them before? They look like they have a large selection, but most of the black teas don't look to be single estate. While I'm on the subject...I've never had Lu An, has nayone here had it and what are their observations? I am slowly experimenting in the world of green tea and I know that China will be a neverending adventure. I tried Huang Shan Mao Feng and gunpowder both of which are fine to me (I don't get super enthusiastic about the greens I've had but they are fine to drink...I want to find one that really does taste like new-mown hay if anyone can steer me in that direction). I have yet to find one that actually tastes "sweet".

Along those lines also, has anyone had the Gan Lu from Teaspring? It looks very green in the picture, if that means anything...

I've had melon seed many times, and love it. One thing you've got to bear in mind about greens - they produce a very subtle and delicate brew. They should be sipped and savored for their subtle characteristics. I use a small, handle-less cup rather than a mug - a mug doesn't seem right for greens. Don't look for over-the-top flavors in green teas - again, it is very subtle, and needs to be brewed properly, with non-boiling water and for short periods of time - one or two minutes. Once you learn how to brew and enjoy it, it will provide you with endless variety and enjoyment.
