Flower tea

I am not a huge fan of flower teas mostly because, in my opinion, of their lack of complexity. I did recently come across some absolutely excellent Jasmine Mao Feng tea that is simply to die for. The most noticable aspect is the freshness of the Jasmine flowers that was added to the Mao Feng; the MF was a higher grade than usually used with flower scented teas. The Jasmine flowers are very tender and white.

I really wish I could say I got it from this vendor or that vendor...I got it from my friend's father who is a professor in tea...

Last weekend I went to the Costco in Hillsboro, OR as it supposedly had a "tea bar". What they had was a few selections of vacuum-sealed tea packets right by the coffee roaster, and some urns with prepared tea as samples. But I did pick up a packet of jasmine pearl tea, about 2 ounces, and I finally tried it last night. WOW that was some strong jasmine -- almost like drinking a cup of perfume -- but I could still taste a note of green tea under it. I might buy it again.
