French "talk"

Hello, all, I just found this very flowery list of descriptive vocabulary used to describe French teas on Dammann's site. It certainly mad me chuckle because many years ago some wine-making friends of ours distributed a very similar adjective list to their Sonoma vineyard visitors.

As an aside, does anyone have any French teas to recommend? I know this is probably an obscure question since this list seems less interested in non-Asian teas; but, my sister just came back from Paris and adored Mariage Freres and I'd like to get her something. Shenoa

Hi Shenoa,

As a shop for loose teas I'll always recommend Le Palais des Thes in Paris - I'll be in there tomorrow or Monday to pick up some bits and bobs before my return to England on tuesday. I particularly like their range of CHEAP BLACK teas - the lower assams, malasian, georgian, and 'Carrington' - since I drink mostly chinese greens and greens I can get in china. But if packaging is yr criteria, they do that as well as any, with boxes of tubes of various sorts - ie selections of 12 in black teas, greens, scented etc. And nice metal 100g cans - Carrington, Yunnan etc.

Y'll find them on the web, www palaisdesthes com , or something

Satisfied customer etc,

Regards,

Im Moral Jah

Try the Indar "special blend." Appears to be a mix of Ceylon and black China teas. Robust enough to drink with milk, light enough to drink without.
