Found this from the BBC

Hi,

We are looking for contributors to take part in a new money series that we will be filming in 2005. It's all about finding the tightest people in Britain as well as the most generous and pubs are a great forum where these sort of people can acquire these reputations amongst their peers.

Would you be able to place the appeal below in any of your internal or external communications? We would be very grateful for any help. Just to give you a bit more background, this series is being produced by Documentaries & Contemporary Factual at the BBC. This is the department that produces Top Gear, Watchdog, SAS are you Tough Enough and Crimewatch amongst other things. If you do have any further queries then please don't hesitate to shout.

I thought the BBC were going to stop producing this witless garbage?

They've gotta spend the money they saved by not showing Test Cricket for the next few years somehow!

The BBC haven't shown Test Cricket for about seven years - are you confusing them with Channel 4?

No, I was referring to the deal struck by the ECB today which took live Test Cricket away from any terrestrial provider.

I believe the BBC put in a bid to show Test Cricket which apparently didn't meet the offering of BSkyB. In that case, the BBC have some surplus money floating around somewhere - which of course they can spend on more reality TV and makeover shows.

Ho hum (as someone once said)
