I think that, tongue somewhat in cheek, we are more likely to see books about the *Korean* origins of the Japanese tea ceremony - see the talk page for the Wikipedia entry on 'katana' for some idea of what I am talking about.
It is fascinating to imagine the Kaifeng bourgeosie drinking matcha, though, and thanks for that image.
