neophite seeks gong-fu tea house

I recently moved to LA and at almost the same time got interested in the world of tea. I am wondering if anyone lives in LA and could tell me of a teahouse i could go to which performs the Gong-fu style of tea ceremony. or is it more proper to refer to it as cha tea art? Anyway, thanks very much for any sugestions. P.S. Is purchasing tea online the best method of getting good to great quality greentea at reasonable prices? thanks again... Breden Jos

I live in New York City and would like to put forward the same request for information for this area.

Some people just call it drinking tea. I never heard it referred to as "cha tea art," but that works well enough.

Purchasing tea on line is the best method of getting good to great quality green tea when there is no local source available. I believe there are sources in LA, a place I've personally never been and most likely to which I will never go.

Well hey, you must have a thousand good sources to get high quality tea in New York! As for me here in LA I can (and do) get some tea from China Town but I just wondered if there were better, cheaper ways online.

On an aside, I lived in Ithaca NY in my formative years. Only got to the big city occasionally however.

Good luck finding a tea house out there. Breden Jos
