TaTa (owner of Tetley) may acquire Jacksons of Piccadilly

Interesting. Jacksons is currently owned by Associated British Foods, which also owns Twinings and Fortnum & Mason. Twinings is trying to gain market share in the non-specialty tea business in the UK, which is why they recently introduced their Everyday Tea. I wonder if they would really sell Jacksons to Tata and allow them to gain an even larger share of the UK tea market, which they already dominate.

BTW, this past October Tata acquired Good Earth Tea in the USA.
