upton recommendatins for pu erh and oolong?

Hi. I just started ordering stuff from Upton, but I'm still on the sampler/testing stage. So I'd like to try one of their oolongs and also one of their green pu-erhs. Price matters a bit, but not that much. Any suggestions from this group?

Thanks in advance, Ole K

I purchase from Upton a lot and like them as a vendor, but they only have a small selection of pu-erhs, none of them green.

In modestly priced oolongs, try Tie-Guan-Yin Oolong Imperial (ZO84) or Formosa Amber Oolong (TT55). They also sell many more expensive oolongs that I am not familiar with; perhaps another poster can give some additional recommendations.

Thanks a lot. Guess I'll try them both, and go somewhere else for green pu-erhs. Any suggestions where that might be?

Ole, I've been happy with the teas I've got from Teaspring, Mandjs and Teahub. Jingteashop also seems to be highly recommended in many fora.

By the way, if you are in Bergen, you are welcome to drop by our tea room and store!

How close are you to Chinese markets? They may have green tuochas for well under what the on-line sites appear to charge for them.

I live in Trondheim, Norway. I guess the nearest Chinese market would be London, England. Hardly worth the trip. :-) Thanks, anyway.

I wish I could. I've read about your place on your website. I lived in Bergen for five years, but that was way before any teashop was planned. We were a few tea-drinking enthusiasts down there in the mid-seventies, though. . . :-) Anyway, thanks for your links. I'll check them out.

Your ancestors certainly thought trips to England were worth it. :)

Hehe. Well, even they had to rob a few churches and monasteries to make it pay. Considering the many prejudices against that sort of behaviour among the British these days, I guess I'd rather find an online teashop. Anyway, thanks for sharing some light on the hitherto hidden motifs the vikings may have had whenever they packed their ships and said they'd go on a few days' vacation.

:-D
