Yes, this is an instructive group -- I've learned much about the world of Chinese tea since discovering them last year. Many of the transactions here are primarily about sharing knowlege.
It is the people who make it that way. Some are devoted amateur experts, who have even built & maintain free web resources as helpful tools to understanding. Some answer questions pertintently, sharing their expertise upon request. Disagreement is handled with very little acrimony, if at all, pointing to a civilized restraint which is rare in any environment, let alone a Usenet News Group.
The scarcity or absence of trolls & me-tooers is refreshing. Especially noteworthy is the rarity of blatant or off-the-wall spam.
I do appreciate this group myself.
