and would love to hear anyone's suggestions or favorites from them. Most of the suggestions/reviews of Mike Petro's on pu-erh.net are no longer available, so my usual guidepost is missing :)
The 2006 Six Famous Tea Mountain * Red Label Raw Pu-erh Tea caught my eye, as well as the Yunnan Green, and some of the Pi Lo Chun's. I was looking at the 2004 Dadugang 1336th Thai Calendar Pu-Erh, and the 2006 Xiaguan Horse's Back * Raw Pu-erh Tea * Display! (that I think Jim had mentioned a while back.)
Any suggestions, yay or nay's, or brow beatings welcomed.

Of interest to me but that I haven't tasted are below. If I were looking on my own, and as I have not read any reviews of these yet to indicate they're not worth trying, I'd look to these to try to find something high quality and good to age. In fact, I'll be looking for them in Maliandao when I'm in Beijing next month, to taste and see, though it's doubtful i'll find them.

**I might be the only one on this group who's tried the XG Ancient Tree cake and wouldn't count it in my top 10 cakes to have, but a full review of that will be on the LJ in the next few days.

Well for what its worth, I've bought and tried the following items from YS and found them very nice indeed:-
**2002 Jingmai Mountain Wild Arbor Raw Pu-erh Bricks 500g (Has a touch of bite but an outstanding flavour - I'm eeking this out to make it last as long as possible)
**2002 Ke Yi Xing * Aged Ripe Tea Bricks * 750 grams (Quite a strong, and still a little rough cooked pu-erh that grows on you the more you drink of it)
**2003 Xiaguan Imperial Raw Pu-erh tea brick 125g (Still has a bit of a bite, but seems to have very good potential )
**2004 6FM Made from 1999 leaf (A smokey flavour to this cake that is not harsh and actually enhances the flavour of the leaves. As Scott says - Unique)
**2005 Gong Ting Tribute Ripe Pu-erh mini tea cake (very smooth and drinkable cooked pu-erh I'd like to get more of this at some point)
I've also got the 2004 Dadugang 1336 Thai Calendar cake - I tried that last weekend. I found it a little more bitter than expected. Not really something I'd drink at the moment and I've stashed my cake away to see what its like in the future.
Its so hard to choose from among all Scotts goodies but these are the memorable ones for me out of his current stock.
Definitely will check that out, and IMO it's a newsgroup... no sense in keeping quiet or to yourself, things just feel dead then.
I should have added that I was mainly interested in buying some raw immediately drinkable Pu's right now in this order. That was a pretty important piece of the puzzle I left out (it had been a long day) and I am no fan of smokey teas. Maybe that will help narrow it down a bit more.

Best shu I have had thus far, mind you I am a mere larvae among pu-erh bugs. I have not had a V93 to compare it to ,but I bet it holds it's own. I would love to see how it mellows but it aint gonna be here long enough.

No, you are definitely not the only one. I have tried this cake, and I could not taste anything extraordinary in it. A fine cake nevertheless, but I could not sense that potential for future greatness that the person who recommended it mentioned.
