Dalmore Glasses -- how the mighty have fallen

Today I purchased two beautiful Dalmore whisky glasses, the kind with the short stem, wide base, and narrow, flared mouth -- for the grand sum of fifty cents. (That's twenty-five cents a piece!) Can't wait to test-drive 'em, kick the tires and all.



I know, I know, these were probably free with a bottle of Dalmore some time ago, but all I ever see are the chunky "highball" type glasses round here.



I am delighted!



Oh yes, these two wonderful glasses showed up at a local Thrift Shop. The indignity of it all.

I don't think there's any shame in getting Scotch-branded swag. Dalmore seems to be the biggest brander these days, as I've seen their glasses and flasks _everywhere_. I have one of those flasks and it works like a charm on business trips.

I just don't devote it to Dalmore. I think I've used it once for Dalmore.

I never thought to look at a local thrift shop... eBay tends to be the biggest collection of Scotch swag.

My favorite glassware tends to come from huge institutional rummage sales. Churches and schools tend to have these in spring and fall, and sell the stuff that gets donated by member familes--very often the stuff that they don't sell themselves at garage sales.
