Asked the landlord for Glenlivet, but he didn't have any. He used to have a bottle in there, but it took forever before is was used up, so he didn't reorder. Apparently, the patrons didn't consider it on a par with some of the other whisky there.

Lovely box - all suede and leather buttons, no blurb on box or bottle. Always after the contrast I made myself buy another Speyside or is it Highland malt. Preconceptions and past memories are confirmed. This is very nice whisky - medicinal flavours, subtly-sweet aftertaste - more going on in the taste than I can pick up or describe. This is the nicest spey malt for me. But I want more peaty/smokey stuff so next up is for sure Bowmore or one of the other Islays. On a trip to London this week I was in Fortnum and Masons and stole a glance at the Malts. There's a whole world of just Islay malts for me to choose from - and where's the time?

...or the money :( Economic necessity forces most of us to be selective, which is why I for one so value the info I pick up from this group.
