J&B Rare blend?

J&B Rare has such a distinctive flavor I was wondering if anyone here has an idea of the blend? What makes it up and also what percentage is grain whiskey?

Most blends contain some "grain" whiskey. Michael Jackson gives it a 7.5 and another a 5. Not very highly rated. Jackson thought there might be some Bowmore blended in. Not particularly distinctive and a bit "watery" as they say. Few of the blends are worth the money compared to decent single malts.

I have a soft spot for J&B as its the whisky that got me back into drinking the stuff. A delicate dram that tastes of bananas to me, its a good mixer and a gentle introduction for a novice to scotch.

I doubt if I'd bother drinking it now though, as I've since discovered the delights of single malts.
