A new Canadian whisky just hit the shelves here, Pendleton 10yo @40%. It's an import bottled in the US to tie-in with the big rodeo of the same name in Oregon. Does anyone here have a clue as to its origin?
It seems firmly in the Canadian Club camp, but it has a little more rye zip than most, sort of like a cross between CCC12 and Canadian Special Old. That creamy vanilla wafer is there with a little banana pudding (southern style). Good mouthfeel for a 40% whisky, and enough character to drink neat. Decent sweet and fruity finish for a CW due to the lingering oily coating of the palate. It's a beauty, eh?
