Which part of 'Scotch' don't you understand?

I have mixed feelings about this one. This group has always (I've been here 10 years or more under a couple of names) allowed and even encouraged digressions into other whisk(e)y types. Some of our most erudite posters over the years wrote extensively about Canadian whisky. Also American, Irish and Japanese.

But bob wald was here for a while in the spring, babbling endlessly and not very coherently about Black Velvet, an average Canadian whisky whose most outstanding quality is a nice Christmas gift tube.

I had him killfiled but he must have got out in the general amnesty a while ago. We'll see whether he needs to go back in the slammer.

cheers.

Very true. As I've replied below I was just in a bad mood this morning. Should have just written the reply then deleted it.

I may have to start using a killfile for the first time in...ever, now I come to think about it.

Oh, shaddup and have a wee dram wi' me, James. ;-)

I hoist one in your general direction, which, since unknown, requires me to hoist four, but I don't begrudge it the extra effort! Done!

Slainte!

I admire your commitment :-)

Sadly I can't join you _just_ yet as it's 8.50am and I'm sitting at work, wondering how best to avoid actually doing anything. However tonight I shall pour myself a glass of the Whisky Shop 15yo Springbank that I got in Glasgow and toast your good health.

Slainte mhath!

Thanks, Jim. From the time difference, I would guess you're in the UK, so I'll toast you back at 8 PM your time (12 Noon here in Los Angeles). ;-)

Aye, I'm in drizzly, chilly Blighty. I'll try to time my toast to yours but I'm watching episodes of UFO back-to-back so no promises :-)

I'm sipping a dram of Caol Ila cask strength. Non age statement, but very good.

I can recommend the Whisky Shop 'Glenkeir Treasures' 15yo Springbank cask strength. Not overly cheap but a rather nice dram.

The Interpowered Computerweb is, indeed, a wonderful thing :-)

And I a wee dram of The Glenlivet Cellar Collection French Oak Finish 1983, perhaps the finest in my small collection. I have no one to sip with here, so, for me, this virtual international get together is an august occasion, albeit in November.

So, once again, slainte & na strovia, Jim and Rajmund. Thank you for brightening this old man's afternoon!
