The new Port Charlotte 8 is out. Fresh on the market since 1st of August. I have it and notice an improvement since the 7. The 7 was very good. But the 8? Its wonderfull. Krispy bacon and creme brullee with that ever present peat smoke. I am in love. Congrats to Jim McEwan again.

Perhaps I just had a bad bottle but the PC7 seemed *dead* to me. The PC6 was a wonderful, sparkling dram but something was horribly amiss with the 7.
On the other hand I have an Octomore on order which should be with me on Monday. 140ppm!

One mans food is another mans poison as they say. Octomore is very heavily peated and does not really do anything for me. I love PC7 and love PC8 even more. As I said. its crispy bacon and burnt sugar or creme brulee as they call it
