went to Glen Moray last week

Was guiding a tour of Germans last week and we were staying in Elgin. They wanted to visit the Glen Moray destillery and we took the tour. I was never very impressed with Glen Moray, but their new single sherry cask bottling they have brought out for the Speyside Festival was a nice dram indeed. Not the best I have tasted by any means, but decent enough. Was bottled at Cask Strength. Nice clean dram for those that like that sort of thing. The tour wasnt up to much though. Same old story, except no humour to go with it. There was a barrel open with some dregs in it that we were allowed to sniff. I liked that.

Peace,

Jock

Odd place, isn't it? You get to it via a housing estate, the distillery looks like a chemical factory of the 'bleak industrial unit' school of architecture, yet the shop itself is charming.

Weird.

Glen Grant isn't far away, and the walk from the car park is via a woodland path. Quite lovely. Sadly the shop is a bit bare-bones.

Yes Jim you are right. Here is a picture I took outside the place:

Sorry I thought I could paste a direct link to the picture I was referring to. Istead you will need to browse through to the Glen Moray ones.
