1982 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon

I'm still trying to drink up the few older bottles I have left. Tonight's was the 1982 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon--the regular bottling, not the hillside select.

I thought it was sensational. Clearly the best of our older bottles we've recently opened. The cork looked great and came out without crumbling, the color had hardly a tinge of brown, and it was full of fruit, with the tannins gone.

Alas, it was the only remaining bottle.
