1997 Vitanza Brunello di Montlacino

I've been a bit under the weather for the past few weeks with incredible allergy issues so my consumption is way down. I did rummage around last night and pulled a bottle of 1997 Vitanza Brunello di Montalcino. We were having some light pasta with grilled pork. The wine was still dark purple with no signs of age. Nose of leather and black cherry. Nice upfront fruit somewhat simple on the palate. A bit of tobacco, leather and cassis with finish of black cherries and earth. Nice but not overwhelming. "B"
