2000 Poggio Antico Riserva Brunello

I had a grilled dry aged NY Strip steak last night served with a shaved 24 month "red cow" Parm. Reggiano and we had a bottle of 2000 Poggio Antico Riserva Brunello. The wine was a very dark purple, almost black. Effusive nose of black cherry, tobacco and "sous bois". Still quite youthful on the palate with plenty of black cherry, blackberry, cassis and oak with a fair amount of tannic grip. Years to gobut tasty now. "B+/A-"
