A friend brought a bottle to dinner last night.... 2004 Robert Arnoux Romanee St. Vivant. I thought it was too young (it was) but he insisted that we open it so we did. I haven't had a RSV in years. Wow. Deep burgundy in color. Unmistakable perfume of black earth, truffles, sweet black cherry and raspberries. Smooth and firm on the palate with a bright minerality and earthy edge. Plenty of sweet ripe fruits with edgy tannins just starting to resolve. The wine is still very young and should improve over the next 10 years. "A-"

Wow am I jealous. Did you buy this and if so, what price?
Not my bottle. A friend brought it to dinner. We spilt a mixed case on release but I didn't buy any RSV. My recollection is that it was around $200.
Good buy even at that price. Hard to find under $400 right now.
Yep, in retrospect I wish I had bought a few bottles.
