2006 Yann Chave Crozes Hermitage

WIth grilled burgers, roasted redskins with truffle butter and grilled yellow squash I opened a bottle of 2006 Yann Chave Crozes Hermitage. I've just about polished off a case over the past year and it makes a great grilling wine. Very deep purple in the glass, fairly concentrated nose of smoke, black plums and a deep sage/herbal note. Smooth and dense on the palate, fairly concentrated, ripe black fruit flavors, blackberry, black cherry, some greenish ganja on the finish and a bit of white pepper. "B"
