What the heck are "biodynamic wines"? I don't intend to visit the website but I wonder if biodynamic means that it is not necessary to wash off the horrible chemicals? IMHO, it may be like organic celery which always seems to have sizeable amounts of organic soil attached----perhaps to prove its authenticity!
Biodynamics is much more than organic and is a whole system approach to growing grapes and making wine that involves everything from the lack of chemicals to lunar phases and cosmic forces. Try this website for a more in depth discussion:
Just one warning. Pay no attention to the hocus pocus and the exoteric stuff. The rest is good.
Fact is, people that practice biodynamics are likely to make excellent wine. I cannot think of one biodynamic domaine that does NOT make good wine. I have given a list in the past on this NG, some are very well known. Do not assume I am implying any causality between planetary alignment, telluric forces, dynamisation of liquids and the making of good wine; but one thing is certain, the people that practice biodynamics care a greatdeal about their wine, about the people that are going to drink it, and about the environment. Unlike most organic grape growers in Europe...

I'm working on a horoscope for my Zin vines to tell me the best time to spray and harvest, and of course I've paid a Fung Shui consultant to tell me the best way to plant them. I'm now planning to tear out and replant them in a Yin-Yang pattern and harvest in February.
