Burgs and RRT in Florida

I made my winter sojurn to Marco Island Florida to escape the snow and frigid temps in Ohio. We met a friend for dinner at one of our favorite Naples Florida restaurants, Bleu Provence and shared a few bottles over dinner, The Naples WIne Festival was in full swing so the restaurant was busy with plenty of wine luminaries and all sorts of exotica were being plucked from wine bags....the table next to us was drinking a 1945 Palmer!

2006 Dauvissat Vaillons Chablis-pale gold in the glass. Tight nose of lemon flowers and tangerine. Bright citrus on the palate with lemon- lime notes and a firm acidity framed with limestone minerality. B+

2005 Perrot-Minot Vosne Romanee Aux Brulees-Deep ruby red in the glass. Incredible nose of ripe pinot fruits, red and black cherries, earthy loam, a bit of roasted coffee and exotic spices. Smooth and ripe on the palate with blueberry, black cherry and red cherry flavors followed by layers of earthy notes, a bit of leather and spices, This wine has rounded out considerably since release and even Dale would approve. :-) "A"

1982 Diamond Creek Napa Red Rock Terrace- Surprised on opening to find a deep purple color in the galss with just a faint hint of brick at the rim. Pure Bordeaux nose of barnyard, cassis and cedar. Smooth and elegant mouthfeel, well resolved tannins, and loads of upfront fruit. Creme de Cassis, blackberries and mint hit first then complex layers of cedar, leather, mature earthy notes. Really terrific example of Diamond Creek. "A"
