Burgundy vs. Pinot Noir

Er, Burgundy can be white and therefore not PN... :-)

The question is a little like asking "Riesling or Mosel?", only less precise :-)

Absolutely!

Fritz Wieninger, the top wine-grower here in Vienna, Austria, once summed it up:

There is white wine, there is red wine, and there is pinot noir.

Or Syrah's. Growers that I've spoken to describe Syrah as growing like a weed.

Fritz did not speak about growing pinot, but of winemaking. There no other grape as capricious in the cellar as pinot noir.
