Cammelia cellars and Girard

It was a great weekend of wine at our house.

Girard 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley

Figgy and grapefruit, stainless steel production acidity to cut through the richest of sauces this may be the best SB I have had in ages. We enjoyedit with scallops I am already thinking of a reprise with a seafood risotto. 13.99 at Costco.

Camellia Cellars Sangiovese 2004 Merlo Vineyards Dry Creek Valley Sonoma

Dark fruit evident on an intense nose, oak present but completely integrated (this from a confirmed oakaphobe) This wine has a longish tannic finish and is full bodied. Fantastic wine under $20.

Thanks for notes,. The Camellia is a new producer to me. I've only seen Girard's reds, but the SB sounds interesting
