Have been talked into hosting a dinner for four (including myself) at Club Gascon near Smithfields in London. Any suggestions anyone would care to make? How much would I have to budget for it?

I recently got into a discussion on rec.travel.europe about restaurant prices in London (second only to Tokyo, apparently!) I can't answer your question on estimated prices but I find the Zagat guides reliable and Michelin does not do too badly either tho I don't have up-to-date volumes for London.
