Confused About Georges Duboeuf Wines

Not the wines themselves. I suppose you could say I'm confused by the business model (for lack of a better phrase). I have noticed that there are any number of estates (Chateau de Saint-Amour, Chateau des Capitans, Jean-Ernest Descombes, etc) that say Mis en bouteille par Les Vins Georges Duboeuf in small print on the label. Then there are also wines from Georges Duboeuf himself with his name written in larger print on the label. I guess what I'm asking is what is the difference between all these wines? What is GB's relationship to all of them? Is GB involved in the production of all? Or is he just a consultant or bottler to the former group and the actual winemaker to the latter? What is the advantage (is there an advantage?) to his doing things this way? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm just trying to understand.

TIA, Jack

George Duboeuf acts as a negociant as well as a winemaker. Those other producers are likely making the wine themselves and then selling it to Duboeuf, who then turns around and sells it to consumers.
