Richard Baudains classifies the 1st growth and super second growths of Italy on p. 31 of the April 2007 issue of Decanter. This might create about as much uproar as punching a hornet nest with a stick - especially in Italy. He names 5 first growths and 15 super seconds. I will just name his 5 1st growths. At least to the extent that 1st growths tend to be expensive, many of the wines on the list well meet that consideration.
