Deep freeze / extreme heat / flood and rain (New FREE Service)

I wish to advise participants in this group of a brand new FREE service offered by this correspondent.

Since much of the northern / central / eastern USA is up to their nether regions in snow, ice and sub-zero temperatures; Since much of Australia is sweltering under record (read 50C +) heat; Since vast areas of the UK and Europe are floating downstream under record rainfalls -

In light of the fact that these extremes will virtually destroy the contents of your wine cellar - carefully built up over many years (yes, I can see the corks popping on frozen / ultra-heated bottles as I pen this generous offer) and other collections being carried away in English torrents - I should like to present this once in a lifetime offer.

Just take your precious cargo (I know that this may mean a treacherous journey) to your local FedEx office - and despatch it FREIGHT FORWARD to myself, St.Helier Cellars, Auckland, NZ.

I have a wonderful, temperature controlled facility - just down by my swimming pool / outdoor guest entertainment area - where life is beautiful all the time - and alfresco dining takes place every night of the week, under balmy antipodean skies.

Once a week, again, absolutely free of charge, I shall email tasting notes - just to let you know how much you might have enjoyed your precious vinous delight (always remembering, if they were to remain in your frozen / flooded / super-heated environment, they would be destroyed anyhow.)

And remember, isn't better that one of us will be smiling.

I can be contacted directly at snipped-for-privacy@godzoneNZ.com

Seriously, Take care out there.

Participation in this newsgroup has somewhat "shrunk" over the years - I need you all to maintain some element of sanity in my life.

Happy 2014.

Happy 2014, StH!

I'm one of those who's dropped out of here of late, though I have been lurk ing on and off. I'm afraid I don't have much inventory to augment your woul d-be "loaner" cellar, just a locally made blackberry sweetie that would pro bably freeze in the mail truck after leaving my abode (it's been single dig its Gabriel Fahrenheit in eastern PA, U S of A).

I will keep your generous offer in mind, though!

Dan-O (and Merry WhiskyMas, too!)

Once more, I am touched by your...er.... generosity, St. H. Alas, I regret to inform you that, despite the previous 48 hours of subzero (F) temperatures, our sub-grade cellar persists in maintaining a temperature of 42° F. A bit cold, I grant you, but still well within my personal limits of tolerance.

Happy New Year to all and sundry and best wishes for 2014. Mark Lipton

While I have carefully considered your most generous offer, I feel I must decline at this time but I will put in a tickler file that I will look at from time to time. Happy New Year .

It is so easy in these troubled times to lose faith in mankind. Then out of nowhere a generous soul like St.H comes out of nowhere to restore our faith in humanity. My wine collection is in route as I type.
