Does "Reserva" have legal significance in Argentina?

I have a bottle of a Mendoza (Argentina) Merlot that displays the word "Reserva" on the label.

Wondering whether "Reserva" is a legal term (as it is, for example in Spain's Rioja) or whether in Argentina "Reserva" is simply marketing bull$hit.

Thanks.

"Argentina has demarcated wine regions, but the system is a bit muddled. Some classification laws are strict (i.e. quality requirements for export), while others are not (i.e. "Reserva" classification is at the discretion of the winery and has not formal definition). "
