Erzetič Amfora Rdece Red 2007 *****
50% cabernet/50% merlot blend, handcrafted, stony sloped hills. Oak aged 18 months + 1 year in underground clay amforas.
Almost black ink, at first very smooth black berries, earth, truffle, tobac co. With air the cabernet texture starts to emerge along with some fresh acids, smoked deer meat, leather, hay barn, but still smoothed out by the merlot.
2nd day still going strong. Suspect it is perfect after 5 more years. They also make a pure cabernet, which I just have to get my hands on. Or a box o f them.
Wife notes: Mmmmmm, think I have a new favorite.
