TN: Chardonnay, Nebbiolo, Gamay, etc

Thursday a friend gave me some arrabbiata sauce, I simmered a couple of sau sages in it, boiled some linguine, and made some spinach. Wine was the 2014 Lapierre Morgon Crunchy cranberry and raspberry fruits, some earth, good a cids. Nice length, drinking well already. B+

Friday I roasted a rack of lamb while Betsy did the sides (out of leftovers ). Wine was the 2012 Ar. Pe. Pe. Rosso di Valtellina. Fresh, bright, cherry and raspberry, autumn leaves, some citrus zest. Medium bodied but with a s ense of structure, tannins firm but not harsh. B+ with more potential.

A friend and her pup visited, Betsy made braised tofu with peas & tomato (t hat used malt vinegar, nice sour edge), shrimp fried rice, and bok choy

Andre Roger "Grande Reserve" Brut Champagne Wow, what is dosage on this? This is one sweet Brut. Applesauce, honey, a b it short. C+

2011 Rolet Arbois Chardonnay Nice, sweet pear fruit, good acids, fun. B

Sunday she made a tomato sauce, we used up rest of sausages, served over pa sta with a side of slaw and the 2014 Ducroux " Exspectatia" This is a Vin d e France so assume outside of Beaujolais proper. Dark color for Gamay, burs ting ripe blackberries and raspberries, herbs, quite fun.m B/B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a p arty where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivi ty, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

As a brut it can have up to 12g/l which is quite a lot. above 5g I start to find wine sickening sweet.
