Excellent Source For Wine Glasses

I found this site

formatting link
I stumbled on it searching for wine glasses for my home. They actually don't have the online sales working yet, but apparently the host company has been in business for a long time, they sell, Libbey, Arc, Mikasa and their own brand of glassware and crystal. It seems their primary business is in selling to decorators in bulk but they want to open a retail end. Anyhow, if you go to their site you can find pretty much anything you might want to eat off of, or drink out of.

I hope this helps the people that were looking for wine glasses for their home.

*sigh* That's why you posted this from 206.244.182.98, the IP address of the website you're shilling for. I might be willing to overlook a commercial post if you weren't so blatantly trying to pass it off as a "disinterested" informative post... Marck & Assoc. looks like a reputable company, so you'd better desist this "stealth marketing" campaign if you want to keep oar.net as your webhost.

Mark,

Your correct but I don't work in sales for the company, I just really love the ware. I myself am a Tech, and I love wine, I usually come to this site looking for new ideas for when I visit my local store, which is called "The Vineyard". If you are ever in Toledo, OH check it out, they carry all kinds of specialty wines. And they are right near a place that specializes in fly fishing equipment and cigar sales.

And really oar.net has no cares as to "stealth marketing" as you call it. I do know that. But I just wanted to direct people to a place where they could get wine glasses and not have to pay the big mark ups that we all seem to get retail. And I do buy from the company, I was just trying to help out a company I like, sorry if I offended.

Shawn, You should understand that commercial advertisements are not welcome in this group, as in most alt.* hierarchy groups. Our FAQ gives the guidelines:

You probably didn't understand that, which is why I warned you, but you must be careful now because people may very well complain to OARnet should they perceive a flauting of our posting guidelines. I don't know whether OARnet would act on those complaints, but why chance it? We have other posters who have commercial interests, and that's fine so long as they don't use afw as an advertising venue.

p.s. If I'm ever in Toledo, I'll stop by The Vineyard

Shawn,

Over the years, many posters have offered up "commercial" posts. Instead of doing so openly, or maybe not so "openly," I'd suggest that one follow the posts and threads of the group. When they have something to offer, regarding a particular thread, their comments are always welcomed, providing that they are well thought out and courteous. As there have been many recent threads on glassware, these would have been perfect for your comments. The only caveat would be to identify oneself, as part of a commercial venture with a vested interest. Nothing wrong with that. Many posters here are in the wine business at some level and their close contact with the business is appreciated, but they always identify their ties, so everyone knows where they are "coming from" in their statements. Many others are in the restaurant business, and their comments are also appreciated, so long as they are, in fact, contributing to the discussion, and not trying to sell us something.

Please feel welcome here, and do not hesitate to contribute. I think it was the manner of the first contribution and the possibility of impropriety, that offended some, with possibly good reason.

Please weigh in on the next glassware debate, with your observations, and any testing data that you can bring to the table.
