Interesting... I actually read somewhere that if one eats with the opposite hand, food will taste different because it will travel to different parts of the mouth in a different order. Sounded dubious, but I tried it. Yanno, there =is= a difference, though it is subtle. It is possible that it's imaginary (it's hard to do this double blind), but I was surprised, since I didn't expect any noticable difference.

("Bed" is singluar, and since it has an "and" in the name, the "at" helps with interpretation)

What about distinctive glasses for various reds? Barolo, Chinati, Burgundy, etc.? Isn't that overdoing it?

I think it is. Those that really think it isn't probaby don't need the FAQ. Different vintages and origins of the same (named) wine can sometimes taste more different than different wines. And of course, wines taste different when paired with different foods, so we probably should have a "Cabernet with steak" glass and a "Cabernet with mushrooms" glass, and a "Merlot with Lamb (rare)" glass, and a "White Zinfandel with Filet of Sole" glass... well, that one could be a jelly jar. :)
