Not too expensive? Does not compute - you ARE going to Stockholm as in, Stockholm, SWEDEN?

You could try Café Duvel in Vasagatan. Don´t follow my previous recommednations concerning 'Prinsen' which has deteriorated. For seafood, you _might_ like Wedholm´s which however is not cheap, and has one thingy in the Guide Rouge. Beware any restaurant with a name starting with Pontus. Beware any restaurant in Gamla Stan, unless they´re _really_ cheap, in which case it can hardly get worse, so, all in all, you might win out on the deal.

But most of all, many thanks for the suggestions, Nils. Btw, is there a fish market where one can buy fresh or smoked fish? Norwegian towns certainly have those.

Why yes, as a matter of fact, you might appreciate the Östermalmshallen, on the Östermalmstorg, which is a market nhall from c. 1900, a great palce in its own right, with lots of high class stalls selling all sorts of good stuff (except alcoholic beverages stronger than beer), including fish, game, vegetables etc. Also several rather good small restaurants, unfortunately only open during business hours. The kind of open air fish market you refer to, I don´t think there is any in Stockholm or in the close vicinity. Östermalmshallen is a definite 'must' if you are at all interested in good food and visit Stockholm. A great place to have lunch, even if it tends to be a bit crowded.

Oh yes, just remembered: "Halv trappa + gård" is a fairly good restaurant, or was, when we visited it about a year ago.
