Yes, 1967 is probably too old. It was an OK, but not a great vintage, hiding behind 1970, and arising just after the great 1966. Nonetheless on Thanksgiving we had:
1967 Ch. de Pez and a 1967 Ghemme, the latter a Piedmont wine, of Nebbiolo grapes. Both were near spectacular, considering their age. The de Pez a bit more amber in color, with slightly fading fruit, but with wonderful fruit and aftertaste. The Ghemme, however, stole the show, with great nose, and great fruit, possibly almost "not quite to its peak" flavor. Quite a day. I thought I had held it too long. Both benefited from sitting 24 hours in a decanter. Both tasted on Thsg and on the day following. Cheers to all on this post holiday moment. Kent- posted
