Ok, noobie alert time again.
Someone bought me this bottle of red for my birthday about a year ago. It's from the Macon-Charnay appellation (which I assume is a Burgundy) and is the 2000 vintage. However, nothing else is printed on the label aside from a Medaille D'Argent and a crest with no writing on it.
I'm having a hell of a time trying to find out about this wine as to its character and whether I should've drunk it yet. My searches have thus far been only on the Web and this newsgroup. It could be good, it could be £4 :D
Macon is better known as a white wine area is it not? Any knowledge to shed further light on this would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dan
