Is this a record?

Hello, All!

A little while ago, I asked about the proliferation of labels indicating awards from an amazing number of competitions on Australian wines. Well, I have just seen my personal record: there were six medallions on a bottle of Jacobs Creek, Reserve Shiraz, 2001. It wasn't even particularly expensive either!

Well.... Aus wines tend to use that labels to attract buyers. I have a with

8 medallions- Wyndham Show Reserve Shiraz.

P.S. I am a newcomer of this newsgroup. It really impressed me as the topics are worldwide. Good for me to increase knowledge of win. Thanks guys!

Edmund,

Welcome. As you noted, this is an international NG, with focus across the wine spectrum, from $3 Chuck (yuck - comment mine) to the rarest of fine wines, many of which I cannot afford to even look at on a wine list. IIRC, there are at least two other posters from Hong Kong. Please keep the group informed on the wines available there, and how you like them.

Often one will ask for recommendations for wines, and not state their location. Obviously, a wine with great presence in, say, San Francisco, CA/US, might be very rare, or non-existant in some parts of the world. Even the differences between what is available in Canada v upper US is vastly different.

And again, welcome, Hunt
