C´mon , fess up - what ´s your

This is possibly [OT]. Then, maybe not. While we of course all are solely and totally into Great Vintages from Good Producers (preferably Biodynamic), it may sometimes be the case that we do partake of something not exactly classified as a Really Good Wine. Yours truly has, since first landing, half-mad and paranoid, in Levernois back in 1997 and, on discussing the possibility of starting dinner with a beer (remember, Levernois is on the outskirts of Beaune!), being, as an alternative, suggested a Kir, been a firm upholder of that beverage - particularly with the cassis replaced by Creme de Mures (blackberries). However, about once, or twice, a year, when white peaches are available, I do that great Italian pre- or possibly post-prandial, Bellini. Usually with some cheap white fizzy, like Cinzano Brut, or the equivalent. Wine? Perhaps not. Good? Oh, dear, yes, particulary on a balcony, or garden terrace, while the sun is setting etc etc etc. But it´s got to be _white_ peaches, the yellow ones don´t work at all. So, fess up: what´s yours?

Cheers

Many many years ago I worked as a waiter in a "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant. There they served Sangria made with Gallo Burgandy, Cointreau, etc etc.

There wasn't any air conditioning in the back area so we were allowed to have the occasional jug of the Sangria. Of course we always made our own special blend. :-)

I can't think of anything that ever tasted more refreshing after a few hours of working in hot hot humid conditions.

and yes I admit it. Ocassionally at the liquor store checkout I will pick up one of those little 175's (?) of some cheap red and make myself a small jugs of Sangria to enjoy on a hot sunny Sunday afternoon with a mild Raphael Gonzales cigar.

A recent guilty pleasure has been taking a bottle of Medici DOC Lambrusco, and FREEZING the bottle. It makes a great slushie in the hot summer weather. Thanks to John at Vinny's Beverage for such a "cool" idea!
