Merlot made with Raspberries?

Nov 14, 2003 8 Replies

Hello, I am new the wine tasting. I would like to know of another Merlot flavored with Raspberries other than BV coastal. I am also on a budget so I will not rule out a boxed wine ;-)

Thanks in advanved.

Speaking of boxed wine....

I am nearing the end of a box wine called peter Vella Merlot.... in a 5 liter box..... about 12 dus ......

I`m not sure if you could call it rasberries or black cherry, but it does have a nice mild fruity taste.....

I recommend it for people on a budget and for an everyday inexpesive wine....

I hit the wrong button and sent the other post by accident.....

but I also wanted to add that I have not tried BV Coastal... so I do not know how it would compare to that wine......

But I will be looking for it, to taste.....

I hope you do not believe they use raspberries in making this wine. This is just one of many fruit flavors people may detect in fine wines.

Maybe that's what you meant.

With BV coastal I think anything is possible.

Overheard at Costco:

Maybe we should get BV. You can't go wrong with BV!

Oh yes you can!

Has anyone tried to flavor inexpensive wines with different fruit juices.... such as rasberries or black cherry..... etc.......

I think I will make a project of it, later today, of mixing different fruit juices and my favorite merlot box wine, using an eye dropper for exact measurements.....

I`ll report back on how it turns out....

Even thought I found this Merlot to be most flavorful, the histimines may give you one terrible headache a few hours after drinking. I wouldn't give this as a gift to my worst enemy ;-)

LOL, yes. I have. ;)

P.S. It can also evolve into sangria, I believe.
